BRATENAHL, Ohio -- Authorities are still investigating a five-vehicle crash that killed one person on Interstate 90 Thursday night.

According to a press release, it all started with a single-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes west of Eddy Road at just before 10 p.m. The vehicle was disabled and in the left lane.

The driver of a 2003 Ford F-150 stopped to help and check on the occupants inside the crashed vehicle. As the driver got out of the F-150, a 2003 Ford Taurus struck the rear of the truck.

A blue 2011 Chevrolet Cruze then hit the rear of the Taurus causing the Taurus to burst into flames.

A white 2013 Kia Soul immediately hit the Cruze, forcing the Cruze into the middle and right lanes of Interstate 90, where a semi then hit the Cruze.

In all, six people were taken to area hospitals. The driver of the Taurus was pronounced dead at the scene.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 90 were closed between Eddy Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive for around four hours.

Authorities say names are being withheld pending further investigation.
