A Wood County man has been charged with manslaughter after a woman was killed in a four-wheeler wreck on Wednesday evening.
Wood County Sheriff Jim Brown says that around 5:27 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a four-wheeler accident reported in the 3600 block of East State Highway 154 east of Quitman.
Michelle Hagger, 52, was injured when the four-wheeler she was riding flipped over, causing her to fall off the vehicle and break her neck. Hagger was transported to the Quitman hospital by ambulance. She was pronounced dead by Judge Tony Gilbreath.
According to the sheriff's department, the four-wheeler Hagger was riding was being towed by another vehicle, driven by Ted Morris Sr., 57. Sheriff's investigators determined that Morris had been drinking at the time of the incident.
After a blood alcohol sample was taken, Morris was arrested and booked into the Wood County Jail on a manslaughter charge.
