LARCHMONT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) –
An electrician has been charged with arson in a massive fire that destroyed a New York State Thruway Larchmont salt shed Tuesday evening.
The blaze ripped through the shed at 629 5th Ave. in Larchmont, which is part of an industrial park just west of Interstate 95.
New York State police officers say Richard T. Cass, 54, a Thruway electrician, was at the salt shed after businesses hours where he “recklessly started a fire that ultimately destroyed the salt shed and several pieces of Thruway heavy equipment.”
