NEVER, NOWHERE SAFE ON THE DEADLY U.S. ROADS: tRUCK Driver killed on the Pennsylvania Turnpike while he was inspecting his tires

A man died this morning when two commercial motor vehicles collided in Indiana Township, state police in Gibsonia said.

It happened just after 10:30 a.m. on the Pennsylvania Turnpike at milemarker 42.4.

Police said Richard Wiegard Sr., 69, of York, was driving eastbound when his truck struck a man, 73, of Lisbon, Ohio, who had stopped on the south berm to check his tires. The man was killed in the collision.

Mr. Wiegard was not injured in the crash.

The man's identity is being held pending notification of his family.
