NJ Officer Injured After Man Steals Police Cruiser, Hits Several Police Cars, Crashes In Paramus After Chase





PARAMUS, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — 

A suspect is in custody after he allegedly stole an Englewood Cliffs police cruiser, led officers on a chase through part of New Jersey and then crashed in Paramus.

The chase happened at approximately 3:40 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities say the chase continued through Englewood Cliffs, Bergenfield, Tenafly, Dumont before the suspect crashed on Route 4 in Paramus.

The suspect driving the stolen police car reportedly hit several police cars during the chase, injuring one officer, CBS2’s Matt Kozar reported.

The cruiser then jumped the curb and crashed just a few inches from a row of SUVs at car dealership Paramus Dodge.

The extent of the officer’s injuries is not known.
