On July 21, 2015 at approximately 2:50 PM, The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a small airplane that may have crashed near Coeur D’Alene River Road at approximately milepost 20. Shoshone
County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded and found the pilot and passenger of the aircraft uninjured.

The pilot, Lyle Drader, of Pullman, WA, is a contractor for the U.S Forest Service. The passenger, Glen Bredson, is with the U.S Forest Service out of Coeur D’Alene. At the time, Drader and Bredson were on duty patrolling the area looking for fires. Drader reported that his aircraft, a single engine Cessna, began to experience engine problems over King’s Pass, near Murray, ID and he was forced to make an emergency landing. Drader landed in a field adjacent to Coeur D’Alene River Road, at approximately mile post 20. During the landing, Drader’s aircraft received moderate damage.

Drader Reported once the aircraft came to rest, he called 911. Investigation of this incident was turned over to the U.S. Forest Service and the Federal Aviation Administration.

Narrative:
Following a loss of engine power, the aircraft force landed to mountain meadow terrain northwest of Murray, Idaho. The airplane sustained substantial damage and the two occupants onboard were not injured.
