Father and 13-year old son drowned in Trigg County, Kentucky boating accident

A Hopkinsville father and son drowned in a boating accident near the Devil’s Elbow boat ramp Saturday afternoon.
              
Trigg County Public Information Officer James Flood says 52-year old Michael Bussell and 13-year old NyDarion Bussell of Glass Avenue, Hopkinsville were pronounced dead at the scene by Trigg County Coroner John Mark Vinson.
              
Flood said the father fell out of the boat and his son went into the water in an attempt to help him. The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. in the Land Between the Lakes portion of Devil’s Elbow.
              
Assisting in recovery of the bodies were the U.S. Forest Service, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Trigg County Sheriff Office, Trigg County Rescue, Trigg County EMS, Trigg County Coroner’s Office, Kentucky State Police, and US Corps of Engineers.
              
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife is in charge of the investigation.
              
Flood said Brooks, Redd and Hollowell Funeral Home would be handling funeral arrangements for the Bussell's.
