SYLVANIA, OHIO

A natural gas main leak that caused a brief evacuation of Sylvania businesses on the west side of the city’s main block downtown today has been repaired, officials said.

There were no reported injuries, according to Sylvania police.

A construction crew hit a gas main meter at 5675 Main Street at about noon, police said. Columbia Gas crews shut off the gas to the building at about 12:45 p.m., at which time the affected businesses resumed operation, police said.

Utility crews repaired the gas meter and restored service to the building, Mr. Kozak said.
