Exit 76 East off Interstate 26 was closed on Wednesday
night due to an accident and a hazmat spill.
Officials said a tractor trailer overturned on the ramp and
spilled its load. Hazmat and fire and rescue workers were on scene due to the
spillage of fuel and antifreeze.
Officials said a cleanup team was on the way just before 9
p.m and the scene was clear by midnight.
No one was hurt, only property damage, fuel lost, hazmat
expenses. Hopefully they have enough
insurance.

TRACTOR-TRAILER
CARRYING FUEL FLIPPED TO ITS SIDE AT EXIT 103 OF I-26 WESTBOUND NEAR HARIBSON BOULEVARD
COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -
A portion of Interstate 26 was closed Sunday morning after a
tractor-trailer carrying fuel crash at Exit 103 westbound near Haribson
Boulevard.
The area has now reopen and traffic is moving along.
The accident happened at around 3:50 a.m.
Authorities say about 150 gallons of fuel leaked out after
the tractor-trailer crashed on its side.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation along with a
truck company from Charlotte worked to contain the spill as well as empty out
the additional fuel from the truck.
Crews were able to remove the tractor-trailer and reopen the
interstate just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital,
his condition is unknown at this time.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the
cause of the wreck.
