The officers attempted to rescue the woman inside but were
beaten back by the heat of the flames, a police statement said.
Police and fire personnel found her deceased inside the
motor home once the fire was extinguished. Her identity is still unknown.
Investigators said the RV had been at a Walmart parking lot
at the 8000 block of Talbert Avenue before the fire. Witnesses told police they
saw smoke coming from the vehicle before it left.
Once on the road, the man jumped out of the RV because of the smoke, and yelled to witnesses that a woman was inside as the vehicle veered off and hit a curb before coming to a stop.
The man, who lives in Huntington Beach, was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
