The FDNY is on the scene of a chemical explosion inside a
room at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Officials say the explosion and resulting fire happened
inside a cancer research lab. The fire has since been extinguished. The
explosion was not in the main hospital building and did not affect hospital
operations or patients.
Three employees were in the room at the time but are
uninjured.
