Driver of 18-Wheeler Falls Asleep, Crashes OFF THE SIDE on I-77 IN JACKSON COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA

JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A driver of an 18-wheeler fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed his truck Monday, according to crews on the scene of the accident.



It happened on Interstate 77 around Ravenswood in Jackson County, West Virginia.




The driver was heading north when he fell asleep and crashed off the side of the interstate. 




The 18-wheeler, filled with beans and rice, rolled spilling the contents.



The driver, from North Carolina, was taken to the hospital. No word on his name or condition.




One lane was shut down while crews worked to clean up the accident.
