72-year old motorcyclist killed after crushed by the FrontRunner train in Ogden, Utah

OGDEN, Utah

 A motorcyclist is dead after he was struck by a FrontRunner train in Ogden Tuesday night.

The male was traveling west on 2nd Street when he collided with the lowered railroad crossing gate and crashed on the tracks at 500 West, according to tweets from Ogden police.

The male was then struck by the passing train. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim is believed to be 72 years old. Police are currently working on contacting next of kin.

It is currently unknown if there were any passengers were on the train at the time of the crash.

Union Pacific Train Derails In Rural Central Texas, Second Derailment in 18 Days

BREMOND (June 30, 2015) 

Fourteen cars of a Union Pacific train derailed early Tuesday in a rural area south of Bremond in Robertson County.

The cars, which were hauling sand, derailed at around 5 a.m. Tuesday along state Highway 14 between Carroll Bashinski Road and Tidwell Prairie Road.

There were no reports of injuries.

The train was bound from Wisconsin to San Antonio.

The derailment was the second in a little more than two weeks.

On June 12 ten cars loaded with corn derailed in Kosse, about 10 miles north of Bremond in neighboring Limestone County.

No one was hurt.

Freight train derailment delays train traffic, blocks roads in Robertson County, TN

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TN 

An early morning train derailment in Robertson County delayed train traffic and blocked some rural roads Tuesday.

The 101 car train was on its way to San Antonio from Wisconsin, when it derailed. 

It was carrying drilling sand, a non hazardous material, but it did damage about 100 feet of track that must be repaired before rail traffic can resume.

Some rural roads were blocked initially by the derailment. There were no injuries reported.

MEDAN, Indonesia (AP) — 

An Indonesian police official says more than 140 bodies have been recovered from the crash of a military plane in Medan.

Rescue teams are searching rubble in the residential neighborhood where the plane crashed Tuesday but hold out little hope of finding survivors.

North Sumatra police major A. Tarigan told TVOne on Wednesday that 141 bodies have been recovered.

Air force chief Air Marshal Agus Supriatna said there were 122 people on the plane.
