An armored truck overturned and crashed Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 95 north, sending debris into the southbound lanes and reducing traffic to a crawl.




Just before 4 p.m. on December 30, an armored truck crashed on Interstate 95 near Beledere Street, just south of the Interstate 64 interchange (mile marker 75). Debris from the crash spilled into the southbound lanes, too; as of 4:50 p.m., 2 northbound and 2 southbound lanes remained closed with backups for several miles.




There were 2 injuries in the wreck, one to the driver of the truck, another from the debris. Both victims were transported to the hospital.

EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - WTOC is still working to gather more information on a wreck involving a mail truck on Tuesday in Effingham County.

The postal worker's truck turned over on Old Augusta Road, just east of Rincon. There is no word on the condition of the driver or what caused the crash.

The fiery aftermath of a head-on collision between two semi trucks near Golden, B.C. has left one of the drivers dead.

RCMP Cpl. Steve Pettit said police were called to the wreck on the Trans-Canada Hwy. just after midnight Calgary time Tuesday, and found the two commercial vehicles had collided some 4 km west of Golden.

Pettit added a passing train also struck some of the debris from the crash.

A 27-year-old man from B.C.’s lower mainland was killed and the driver of the other semi was flown by STARS Air Ambulance to Foothills Hospital in Calgary with critical injuries.
“We continue to investigate but no charges are anticipated,” Pettit said, adding it’s still unclear what led to the catastrophic crash.

Pettit added an RCMP collision analyst has been called in to assist in the investigation.
After being closed for most of the morning, the Trans-Canada Hwy. re-opened to traffic Tuesday afternoon, though delays were expected.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. - 

The driver of a garbage truck was flown to the hospital after a wreck in Spartanburg County Tuesday afternoon.

It happened just before 2 p.m. at the intersection of Reidville Road and Yank Drive.
Officials tell us the truck went off the side of the road and when the driver tried to correct it, the truck flipped.

The back of the truck separated from the cab during the crash.

The driver's condition is not known at this time.
