KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- A total of four police officers were injured after two Philadelphia police vehicles collided on Friday morning.

The wreck happened just after 10 a.m. at D Street and Indiana Avenue in the Kensington section.

The view from Chopper 6 HD showed one police SUV with significant front-end damage.

Another police SUV was up on a sidewalk with damage to its side. That vehicle also apparently struck both a building and a utility pole.

"I see one cop car coming up the 2900 block of D Street and one was coming up Indiana Avenue," said witness John Bayani. "They crashed against each other and it looked like 'Fast and Furious.' Cars kept spinning."

"I saw the officer jump out the cop car his face was all bloody and everything," Bayani continued.

Two officers were in each SUV. All of those officers were taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition.

The crash happened as the officers were responding to the scene of a shooting investigation, police say.

In that incident, police say the 20-year-old male suspect was reportedly driving recklessly and got into an argument with another driver.

The suspect then fired a shot at the other driver and took off.

SEPTA police officers in the area heard the shot and began a pursuit. Those SEPTA officers stopped the suspect at Rosehill and Allegheny.

That suspect is now in custody.

Four Philadelphia police officer were injured after two cruisers collided while responding to a reported shooting Friday morning.

The officers were en route to the call when the two SUVs crash on D Street and Indiana Avenue around 10:15 a.m., according to KYW-TV.

One of the SUVs struck an electric pole before crashing into the side of a home.

One officer suffered a head injury and was taken to Temple Hospital in stable condition while the other three officers were treated at the scene.

None of the injuries are considered to be life-threatening.

SEPTA police arrested a suspect in the shooting near Kensington and East Allegheny Avenues.

Officers from the Accident Investigative District are investigating what caused the crash.   It is obvious that one SUV T-boned the other.  The SUV going east on East Indiana Avenue T-boned the one going north on D Street.  There are ALL-WAY stop signs on both streets.  Thus, these police drivers were going too fast (judging from the massive damage to the SUVs) as they were responding to the call, run the stop sign(s) and T-boned each other.
