57-year-old Hurricane Irma worker died after he fell of his ladder and hit his head on the pool deck in Davie, Florida while putting up shutters





DAVIE, FL (CBSMiami) — A Florida mas has died while preparing for Hurricane Irma which is moving closer the state.

This officially makes it a deadly storm in South Florida.

The 57-year-old man reportedly fell of his ladder in Davie while putting up shutters around 10 a.m. He had been hired to install the shutters from the second floor of the home.

In the fall, he hit his head on the pool deck.

Crews rushed him to Broward Health where he died.

This happened at the Poinciana Parc development in Davie.

A man has died after falling from a ladder while installing shutters in anticipation of Hurricane Irma in Davie, police said Friday.

The 57-year-old man fell about 15 feet and hit his head on a pool deck Thursday while installing the shutters at Poinciana Parc community, police said.

He was rushed to Broward Regional Hospital where he later died. Police haven't released his name.
