TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WLS) -- A small plane crashed into a house in Terre Haute, Ind., Thursday.
The crash happened just a block away from a small airport. Two people were inside the plane and taken by helicopter to area hospitals.
The house was empty.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The aircraft impacted an off airport residential structure in Vigo County just beyond the departure end of Runway 8 at Sky King Airport (3I3), in Terre Haute, Indiana. The airplane sustained substantial damage and the two occupants onboard received apparent serious injuries.
