Malfunctioning propane grill causes $275K in fire damages in Mill Springs subdivision, Indiana; 2 firefighters sustained minor burn injuries when the ceiling of the structure fell in on them.






3 FIREFIGHTERS INJURED AT INDIANA HOUSE FIRE

Three firefighters were injured while putting out a fire that destroyed a home Sunday night in Coatesville.

Investigators with the Floyd Township Fire Department believe the fire began after a grilling mishap.

Two firefighters were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

A third firefighter was taken to the hospital with chest pains but is expected to recover.

No one living in the home was hurt.

Damage is estimated at $275,000.

Floyd Township Fire Department responded to a working structure fire today in the Mill Springs subdivision. 

2 firefighters sustained minor burn injuries when the ceiling of the structure fell in on them. 

Another firefighter was taken from the scene by ambulance to a local hospital with chest pains. 

Despite best efforts from several fire departments, the house was deemed a total loss. 

Preliminary investigations indicate the fire was accidental, caused by a malfunctioning propane grill. 

Floyd Township Fire Department would like to thank all assisting agencies for their help today on this very long and hot fire along with several local residents for their help by providing food and water.
