EAST VILLAGE, Manhattan (WABC) -- A man is in critical condition after being struck by an ambulance in the East Village Monday afternoon.
The ambulance was responding to a call around 1:15 p.m., and was turning at East 14th Street and 2nd Avenue when it struck the victim.
The victim, believed to be an elderly man, was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he is currently in critical condition.
The ambulance did not have lights and sirens on at the time of the crash. The ambulance had a green arrow and right of way as it was making the turn.
Police are currently investigating the accident.
