3 FIREFIGHTERS INJURED AT NJ TOWING COMPANY FIRE

 WALL, NEW JERSEY

Three firefighters were injured at a blaze at Taylor’s Towing on Hurley Pond Road Thursday morning that prompted the response of dozens of emergency agencies.

Two of those firefighters were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, one was treated at the scene, injuries to all three were not life-threatening, according to a statement from Wall Township police.

The towing business was left uninhabitable, according to Wall police Lt. Greg Carpino.

Authorities responded to the fire about 9:35 a.m.

Monmouth County Tanker Task Force responded because no fire hydrants were nearby, according to the statement.

The fire was extinguished about 12:15 p.m.

Taylor’s Towing appears to have suffered significant damage to its roof and walls.

West Hurley Pond Road was closed for about five hours from Carmerville Road to Lakewood Farmingdale Road. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Wall Township Police Department and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, according to the statement.
