A firefighter was injured by a falling snag from a dead or burnt tree in the Boise National Forest. He was quickly flown by Life Flight to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, where he is being treated for minor injuries.

The fire is burning about eight miles east of Deadwood Reservoir, and about three miles southeast of Deer Flat Campground.

A Forest Service spokesman says the Buck Fire broke out Sunday morning. When crews arrived on scene the fire was about 7.5 acres. It has since grown to 300 acres and threatens five structures, but there are no evacuations right now.

About 150 personnel are assigned to the fire, including five hand crews, six engines and several helicopters. More resources have been ordered.

Several Forest Service roads in the area are closed for safety reasons
