3-Alarm Fire in Brookline Displaces Eight, Causes $800,000 in Damage
The fire broke out on the second floor porch of a Winthrop Road residence Wednesday night.

BROOKLINE, MA – Firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze in Brookline Wednesday night that displaced eight and caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.
According to the Brookline Fire Department, the blaze was first reported at 11:17 p.m. on the second floor porch of 165 Winthrop Rd. Firefighters arrived to find the porch fully engulfed in flames, which had extended to the bedroom and roof on three sides.
Eight people were displaced by the fire, which caused approximately $800,000 in damage, the Brookline Fire Department said.
The cause of the blaze remains unknown.
