20-year-old dead in wrong-way crash on I-91 northbound in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, CT
A young man has died after a fatal crash on I-91 north Tuesday morning.
A tractor trailer was driving on I-91 north in the left center lane of four lanes, just north of the entrance for exit 1. A Chevy Cobalt was driving the wrong way south on the highway, on the same northbound side, when it hit the tractor trailer head-on.
The driver, who has been identified as Libni A Nunez Jr., 20, of Meriden, was killed in the crash. The driver of the tractor trailer wasn’t hurt.
The highway was shut down after the crash, which occurred around 4:30 a.m.
