Here is a surveillance camera video from this weeks violent apparatus vs apparatus crash in Miami, Florida. The intersection crash injured numerous Firefighters and civilians.

As you will see, the rescue ambulance (transporting) crosses the intersection without stopping for the red traffic signal-and strikes the side of the responding engine company, going on a separate run.

Could have been worse.

Could have killed some folks or some members-or-as happened in Ohio a few years ago, when the apparatus actually struck and killed two civilians, who were actually relatives of the firefighter driving that apparatus. You never know who's on the roadway. Stop at red lights and stop signs. Just stop. This could have been a multiple LODD.

Now it's healing and recovery time and of course, odds are it's wait for "certified mail" from lawyer(s) time for some of those involved. Ask anyone in our business who has ever been involved in an apparatus crash-do all that is possible to avoid it. Stop at red traffic signals and stop signs and go when it's clear. Riveting information.
