HOUSTON, TEXAS
Houston police said a motorcyclist was killed when a woman
failed to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic in Alief.
The accident happened on Alief Clodine at Cook around 9:45
p.m. Friday, according to officers with the Houston Police Department.
Officers said a woman in a small car turned at an
unprotected green light when a biker traveling in the other direction slammed
into her. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene; the woman in the car was
not hurt.
Police said alcohol was not a factor in the crash, but the
woman received a traffic ticket for the accident. She told officers that she
did not see the motorcycle coming her way.
