Train and dump truck collide in Illinois Route 4 at Randolph/Perry county line

RANDOLPH COUNTY, IL (KFVS)

Illinois Route 4 is shut down after a semi versus train crash at the Randolph/Perry county line.


It happened two-tenths of a mile north of Pyatt Cutler Road on Illinois Route 4, according to Illinois State Police.


A semi five axle dump truck combination and a train crashed around noon on Wednesday.


Illinois Route 4 is closed at the railroad crossing. Traffic is being diverted from the crash scene.


Traffic to the north is being diverted away from Route 4 at Route 150.


Traffic to the south is being diverted away from Route 4 at Pyatt Cutler Road.

Drivers are asked to take alternate routes.

Illinois State Police call the crash a personal injury crash, but no details about any injuries have been released.

Police expect the closure to last for several hours.
