A Southwest Airlines plane was pushing back from a gate when it struck a stationary Southwest plane Saturday morning on a tarmac at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, an official said.

No passengers or crew members on either Boeing 737 aircraft were injured in the incident, according to Victor Gill, a spokesman for the airport.

A wing on one plane made contact with the other plane’s vertical stabilizer, prompting the immediate closing of their respective gates and deplaning of passengers, the spokesman said.

No fuel spill was reported, and the National Transportation Safety Board was notified about the incident.

The aircraft, which sustained minor damage, were moved away from the terminal to another location for inspection, Gill said.
