MILLIONS OF GALLONS OF FUEL ARE SPILLED EVERY YEAR FROM TRUCK AND OTHER ACCIDENTS, 100-200-GALLONS AT A TIME: ANOTHER LARGE DIESEL FUEL SPILL IN OKLAHOMA COUNTY, OK

APRIL 6, 2015

OKLAHOMA COUNTY, OK

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office reports all roads are open after a fuel spill in near Harrah Monday afternoon.

According to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office, a large diesel spill around 2 p.m. shut down roads in the area of SE 15th and S. Dobbs Road Monday.

By 3:30 p.m., all roads had been re-opened and the spill was cleared.

Millions of gallons of diesel fuel are spilled every year from truck and other vehicle accidents, 100-200 gallons at a time.

The design of the truck fuel tanks is noticeably inadequate and unsafe resulting in unnecessary leaks, spills, explosions, fires, injuries and deaths, including environmental pollution and waste of the resources.
