81-YEAR OLD PILOT SEVERELY INJURED IN MEDINA CO. CC 18-180 PLANE CRASH

MEDINA COUNTY, OHIO

A single-engine plane crashed in Medina County on Saturday, injuring the pilot.
The crash happened when the plane attempted to land at Crazy Bob's Airport on Westfield Road in Westfield Township, shortly after 7:30 p.m.

While the pilot was trying to land the Cub Crafters CC  18-180 airplane, the landing gear stuck in the mud, causing the plane to overturn on a grass runway.

The injured pilot, Robert Syme, 81, of Westfield Township, was air-lifted by University Hospital Medevac to Akron City Hospital.

Syme received with severe injuries and remains in the Critical Care Unit.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated, and the Federal Aviation Administration will conduct a follow-up inspection.
