1 FEMALE DRIVER KILLED IN CHEVROLET S-10 PICKUP TRUCK AND TRAIN COLLISION IN ALTON, ILLINOIS

MARCH 15, 2015

ALTON, IL (KPLR)

Alton police confirm that the driver of a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck is dead after the truck was struck by an Amtrak train at the Humbert Road crossing Sunday morning.  The driver of the truck was killed.  The train was the high speed Texas Eagle train headed from San Antonio to Chicago.

The scene is north of Homer Adams Parkway. The truck reportedly drove through the railroad crossing stop signal and arm.  The crossing includes gates, bells and lights to alert cars to oncoming trains.

Who are these individuals who act so recklessly?  Another suicide by train?
Stupid or ultra-reckless? Perhaps terrorists?  Whoever they are, they will not do this again for sure.

The Amtrak train was bound for Chicago, IL. No one on the train was injured.  The train had 256 passengers and crew members onboard.
