WESTMINSTER, Calif. (KABC) --
Four people who were riding in the bed of a pickup truck are in critical condition Thursday after an accident that caused the truck to overturn in Westminster. The 19-year-old driver has been arrested.
Authorities say the driver of the Toyota Tacoma, Jazmin Loera of Garden Grove, struck a parked car in the 13200 block of Hoover Street at 3:45 a.m.

The pickup truck rolled until it came to rest on its side in the middle of the road.

Four men who were in the bed of the truck were ejected. They were rushed to area hospitals in critical condition.

"For several years now in California, it's been against the law to have any passengers in the bed of a truck, so this was a reckless act," said Westminster Police Cpl. Van Woodson.

Loera was taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving.

Hoover Street was closed in the area for several hours due to the investigation.
