ORLANDO, FLORIDA --
A cement mixer crashed and caught fire on I-4 in Osceola
County, near the exits to Walt Disney World late Tuesday morning, shutting down
all eastbound lanes on the interstate.
The crash happened just before 11 a.m. between Osceola
Parkway (Exit 65) and the ramp to State Road 536/Epcot (Exit 67), according to
the Florida Highway Patrol.
Traffic had to get by on the shoulder on eastbound I-4
for more than an hour before the lanes were reopened.
Troopers said the cement truck hit the guard rail and
crashed. No other vehicles were involved, and no one was injured.
The driver was able to exit the truck and was OK,
according to Reedy Creek fire spokesman Bo Jones.
Viewers passing the crash sent photos and video of the
crash scene, which showed fire along the guard rail and underneath the truck.
Reedy Creek and Orange County fire crews responded to
put out the fire.
