ANDERSON, S.C. - An ammonia spill was reported at Robert Bosch LLC on S.C. 81 North in Anderson at approximately 10 a.m.

The Anderson County Fire Department and County Hazmat crew responded on-site. About 250 workers in building 104, the area closest to where the spill occurred, were evacuated for about 45 minutes.

No Bosch associates or contractors were affected by the spill.

Ammonia is used in a plating operation at the facility. During transport of ammonia containers, a technician noticed a crack in one of them. Emergency procedures were activated.
