UPDATE: 3 killed when car goes wrong way on I-380

SWISHER, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Three people died in a crash on Interstate 380 that closed the northbound lanes for about 3 hours Tuesday morning.

The Iowa State Patrol said it happened about 3:40 a.m. just south of the Swisher/Shueyville exit at mile marker 10.
Troopers said a driver was going southbound in the northbound lanes and collided with a northbound vehicle.
All three occupants of the two vehicles died. The patrol has not released their names pending notification of family members.
KCRG-TV9's Brea Love reported multiple emergency crews were on the scene of the crash, with debris covering the road and median.
The Department of Transportation re-opened the northbound lanes around 7 a.m.
