PRINCETON - "I woke up about 6:30 this morning and
I grabbed my cell phone and it was full of voice-mails and text messages from
911 and the local police department and the rescue squad making sure I knew
what was going on down here" said Senior Pastor Scott Catron of the
Cornerstone Family Church.
Around three Sunday morning (1/11) a truck struck an
electrical pole, and sounded like, what neighbors say, a transformer exploding.
Senior Pastor Catron was pretty upset that mass had to be cancelled this
morning.
"This is the first time in the 20 year history of
the church that we had to cancel a Sunday morning service, there's really no
way to make up for a lost service" he said.
Catron said the loss of the service is just half of the
equation.
"You lose revenue, you lose fellowship, you lose
all kinds of things that you just can't make up for" he said.
Officials said both the power and the road could be shut
down for up to 14 hours, but, for a business across the street, they say, the
lights didn't even flicker.
"It hasn't affected anything here" said Danny
Shrewsbury, an attendant at the E-Z way laundromat.
Both Shrewsbury and Catron said they hope the driver is
ok.
