TEXAS CITY, Texas -
A 76-year-old Texas City man was arrested Saturday after allegedly fatally striking a cyclist with his vehicle Friday.

Rene Sanchez was arrested after Texas City officers saw his vehicle parked at a residence. Investigators say Sanchez was interviewed at his home and then at the police station around 12:30 p.m. Sanchez was charged with failure to stop and render aid. He is being held in the Galveston County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.

The Texas City Police Department received a call around 6:08 p.m. Friday that a man with major head injuries appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.

Police say when they arrived at the scene in the 200 block of Highway 146 they found the man's body on top of part of a bicycle.

The victim has been identified as Richard Alan Reazin, 49.

Police say Reazin's body landed on Sanchez's vehicle, and that Sanchez turned into a parking lot to get the body off and then kept driving
