JEFFERSON COUNTY, Okla.

A Wichita Falls man was taken to OU Medical Center after rolling his truck early Monday morning.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 25-year-old Richard Alford was hauling unleaded gasoline with a 2014 Volvo semi around 2:45 a.m. Monday. Alford was westbound on U.S. Highway 70, about 4.5 miles east of U.S. Highway 81, when he left the road for 225 feet, overcorrected and rolled 1.5 times.

Alford was pinned for 50 minutes while the tank he was hauling leaked roughly 3,000 gallons of unleaded gasoline. The Waurika Fire Department was able to get him out of the vehicle.

Alford was taken to OU Medical Center by AirEvac. He’s listed in critical condition with head, trunk and arm injuries.
