FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) –
Three people were hospitalized early Monday morning after the SUV they were riding in flipped, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.
Emergency crews were called to Ardmore Avenue just south of Engle Road shortly before 1 a.m.
Someone involved in the single vehicle crash called 911.
One victim was pinned under the vehicle and firefighters had to stabilize and lift the vehicle to get the person out. The victim was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
The vehicle landed on its wheels, but the back portion of the SUV was crushed.
Two other people inside the vehicle were transported to the hospital in good condition.
Police have not said if alcohol or drugs might have been a factor in the crash. They have also not said if the occupants were wearing seatbelts.
Police closed Ardmore between Engle and Nuttman Avenue while the crash was cleaned up.
The incident is under investigation.
