MULTI-VEHICLE CRASH ON ROUTE 22 IN SCOTCH PLAINS, N.J. ONE CAR WAS BROADSIDED (T-BONED) BY A BOX TRUCK. ALL DRIVERS WERE INJURED

SCOTCH PLAINS, N.J. (CBSNewYork) —
Injuries were reported late Wednesday afternoon, when three vehicles were
involved in a major accident in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.
As Joe Biermann reported from Chopper 2, the T-bone crash
happened on eastbound Route 22 near Glenside Avenue. A box truck belonging to
Newark-based E.B. Express Provisions, a car, and a sport-utility vehicle were
involved.
A utility pole was also taken down.
The driver was still inside the car that was broadsided by
the box truck. Three ambulances were called to the scene, but details about
injuries were not immediately available.
The westbound jughandle to Glenside Avenue was also closed.
It was unclear whether the crash was weather-related.
