1 WORKER INJURED AT OAKLAND FOODS ACCIDENT IN IOWA. HE WAS SPLASHED WITH HOT OIL, BURNING HIS FACE AND CHEST WHEN HE WAS PERFORMING GENERATOR MAINTENANCE

OAKLAND, IOWA

The Pottawattamie County, Iowa Sheriff's Office says 24-year-old Dalton Anderson of rural Ashland was injured in the accident at Oakland Foods at 21876 Highway 59, Oakland, Iowa late Tuesday morning. The sheriff's office was sent to the plant shortly before 11 a.m. to assist Oakland Rescue following the accident. 

Authorities say Anderson was performing maintenance on a generator when some type of explosion occurred.  Anderson told officials he was splashed with hot liquid coming from the generator, burning his face and chest.

Anderson was taken to CHI Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs for evaluation of non-life threatening injuries. Further information on the accident is unavailable
