SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Ice is believed to be the
cause of a traffic accident Sunday in the city of Springfield.
Springfield Fire Spokesman Dennis Leger told 22News at
around 3:15 this afternoon, a car slid on some black ice on the roadway at the
corner of Parker and Cooley Street. The car went off the road and crashed head
on into a tree.
The woman inside was trapped and the fire department has
to use the Jaws of Life to get her out. She was taken to the hospital, but is
expected to be okay.
