SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
One person has died following an early morning
crash in Spartanburg County on Thursday, according to troopers with the
SC Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on Emma Cudd Road just after midnight.
Troopers said a 23-year-old Spartanburg man was driving west with two passengers in a 2015 Ford when the vehicle ran off the left side of the road and hit a tree.
One of the passengers, a male from Spartanburg, died at the scene. Troopers said the male was entrapped in the car and mechanical means had to be used to get him out.
The driver and a second passenger, a 29-year-old Spartanburg woman, were both transported to the hospital.
The Highway Patrol’s MAIT team is investigating the crash.
The coroner’s office has not yet released the victim’s name.
