ANOTHER CLOSE
CALL: SEMI TANKER CARRYING DIESEL ROLLS OVER ON INTERSTATE 76 IN HUDSON,
COLORADO. ONLY SMALL AMOUNT OF DIESEL WAS SPILLED.
January 14, 2015 10:15 AM
HUDSON, Colo. (CBS4) – A stretch of Interstate 76 in
northeast Colorado was closed Wednesday morning after a diesel tanker rolled
over in a crash.
The closure started at 6:19 a.m. and the eastbound lanes
of the highway were closed from Lochbuie to Hudson. The stretch will be closed
until early afternoon as crews off-load the truck’s contents of diesel fuel,
then upright the rig and clean the road.
A hazmat crew with the Colorado State
Patrol stopped a small, slow leak from the trailer.
The way to get around the closure is to take Highway 85
to Highway 52 and then back to the interstate.
So far it’s not clear how the crash happened, but no
other vehicles were involved. The driver was taken to the hospital with
moderate injuries.
