TWO RIO GRANDE VALLEY, SOUTH TEXAS MEN KILLED IN WEST TEXAS AUTO WRECK.  BAD WEATHER CAUSED FLORES TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE TRUCK, SPUN ACROSS THE CENTER LINE A COLLIDE HEAD-ON WITH ANOTHER TRUCK.

Two Rio Grande Valley men died early Tuesday morning in a two-truck wreck near Barnhart, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Martin Flores, 51, of Edinburg and Simon Escobedo Jr., 33, of Alamo were killed in the wreck.

Flores was driving a 2008 Chevy Silverado east on U.S. 67 near Barnhart with Escobedo in the passenger seat, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Bad weather caused Flores to lose control of the truck, according to the Department of Public Safety. The truck spun across the center line and smashed into a 2015 Chevy Silverado.

Local oilfield workers told ConchoValleyHomepage.com that the poorly paved roads have contributed to many wrecks.
