18-wheeler Semi-trailer truck hauling pork tips over a guardrail and
crashes in icy conditions in Allen County, Indiana

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A semi-truck carrying
40,000 pounds of pork crashed on I-469 due to ice covered roads early Saturday
morning. The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. at the 29.6 mile marker just west
of Maplecrest Road, according to Fort Wayne Allen County Dispatch.
The semi tipped over a guardrail on the side of the
road. The Allen County Health Department was called to the scene because of the
pork inside the trailer. Officials said the semi has been condemned.
Officials said the semi driver is in good condition. As
of 5 a.m., southbound I-469 is closed at mile marker 30.6, according to
dispatchers. Crews on the scene told NewsChannel 15 it would be a six hour
clean up. As of 7:30 a.m. there was one lane open while crews were clearing the
area.
