CRANE OVERTURNS IN POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NEW JERSEY, INJURING A MAN ON SITE
December 30, 2014
A Rough Terrain crane overturned yesterday in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, seriously injuring a man on site.
The crane, owned by locally based United Crane Rentals Inc. was lifting a clam dredge at a dock when it went over, the outriggers were fully extended and seem to have sunk a little – possibly as the machine went over - although mats do not appear to have been used.
The operator was thrown from the cab, it is not clear if the injured man who was rushed to a nearby trauma center was the operator, a banksman or a bystander.
