Marijuana
extraction-gone-wrong caused the Monday morning explosion that rocked a
southeast Fort Collins residence, police confirmed on Wednesday.
Poudre
Fire Authority crews were called about 10:15 a.m. Monday to 2602
Timberwood Drive, near the intersection of Corbett Drive and Harmony
Road, on a report of an explosion, authorities said previously.
The residence is part of an eight-unit complex of homes but was the
only one that sustained damages. Neighbors reported feeling the jolt.
Two
men were home at the time of the blast, but neither was injured. Fort
Collins police and Poudre Fire Authority officials continue to
investigate, and additional details have not yet been released. Charges
are pending.
There was no smoke or fire when crews arrived, and
the blast sent a window pane flying more than 20 feet into the grass.
Shattered glass was strewn about outside, and the interior was left
disheveled while investigators poked around the area through most of the
day.
