An
Independence, Indiana home was destroyed by a fire Monday afternoon.
The Pine
Village Fire Department received the call around 11:40 a.m. at the 7800 block
of fourth street in Independence.
Shortly
after, Attica and West Point Fire Departments were also called to assist in
battling the fire.
Firefighters
faced an additional hazard fighting the flames today as the owner of the home
had ammunition inside.
Though it
took nearly 3 hours to put out the fire, no one was injured.
According
to the Pine Village Fire Department, the fire started from a heater.
Firefighters says prior to the fire, the homeowner was dealing with frozen
pipes and was using a heater to thaw them out.
