Fire engulfs home in Douglas County, nEVADA
UPDATE, 9:30 PM: CARSON CITY, Nev. (KNRV &
MyNews4.com) --According to Steve Eisele, Deputy Fire Chief with the East Fork
Fire Protection District, the fire, located at 3690 Shawnee Drive, started near
the back of the home and caused the home to sustain substantial structure
damage. Sadly, two cats perished in the blaze.
The American Red Cross volunteers are assisting the family by providing comfort and care. Red Cross Disaster Action Team volunteers are meeting with the residents and will ensure everyone has a safe place to sleep and has food, clothing, medication and other essentials. Over the next several days, Red Cross client casework volunteers will stay in contact with the family and provide referrals, as they begin their road to recovery.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (KNRV & MyNews4.com) --Fire crews
responded to a structure fire on Shawnee Drive on the South side of Carson City
Saturday night. According to Sergeant Pat Brooks, Public Affairs Officer with
the Douglas County Sheriff's office, more than 15 units from several different
fire stations including East Fork and Douglas County attempted to put out the
blaze. Brooks tells News 4 that all the residents inside the home were able to
make it out safely. No word as to what caused the blaze. News 4 has a crew on
scene and will bring you the latest information as it develops.
