The ferry "Champion Jet 1" with 297 passengers on board and the "Athina P" heading to Angistri and Aegina with 60 passengers on board were in collision in the afternoon of July 30, 2015, at 4 p.m. in Piraeus, while the ships were about to leave the port.

Both vessels sustained damages and were detained, no injures among the 357 passengers and crews were reported, which may have been contributed to the low speed of both ships at the time of the accident.

The "Champion Jet 1" had to be taken out of the Sifnos-Milos-Ios-Santorini-service due to a damaged fin.

The passengers of the "Champion Jet 1" were taken to their destinations with other speed ferries or got the money refunded.

The passengers of the "Athina P" were carried to Aegina with another hydrofoil.
